i added this to the reblog but since the post is gaining traction i want to make a point: @catsuggest is not a terf.

their other blog @nevertrustamanwho was accused of being a terf blog because its suggestions bring up terf blogs. it is not; it is a blog focusing on the behavior of actual men, with a focus on cis men, and includes submissions about how they treat both trans men and trans women poorly. they post submissions complaining about transmisogyny (obviously, tw for transmisogyny in the links) and outright said they were trans friendly. just search “trans” on their blog and you’ll see them agreeing that transphobia is disgusting.

the tumblr algorithm probably picks up terms like “male violence” and just searches any other blog with that term regardless of context. i’ve had recommended blogs that i don’t share fandoms with, and i’ve even had blogs suggested to me that i despise simply because i had used their name on my blog before.

please don’t rely on suggested blogs alone to judge whether a blog is a terf; it spreads misinformation that makes people think blogs they enjoy are against them when they really aren’t.

nevertrustamanwho is 100% a terf. they recently cleaned up their blog and deleted a bunch of posts that called trans women “violent confused men” that they made around 2015. they are calling themselves trans friendly because they dont want to face backlash for their opinions.

they also reblog from a few other transphobes like laughingcomrade and clitrex

oh jeez. i would be more lenient if they made it clear that they no longer held the beliefs they held in 2015, but reblogging directly from terfs is obviously fucking bad.

so now i’m actually disappointed. though this should have been mentioned in the callout, and not the suggested blogs, since this is actual proof.
